Spinaccia Pizza - OAG STYLE

I hope everyone is having a healthy week! I want to share a product testimonial from Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

"OAG products are ingenious! As someone who is very carb conscious, I love that I can "indulge" in cauliflower breads and zucchini pasta without the guilt and extra calories and additives of regular starches. And what a great way to get in all your veggies for the day! Awesome products!!"
Catherine B. - Baton Rouge, LA

Thank you so much Catherine! It's fantastic that you can enjoy OAG products without any guilt!

Once a week, I bring in OAG pizza crusts to one of my favorite local pizza parlors in Santa Barbara called Gino's Pizzeria, and they make a pizza for us on OAG's veggie-pizza crust. One of my weekly favorites is Spinaccia. The recipe of the week is.... Spinaccia Pizza - OAG STYLE

Ingredients:
2 cups fresh spinach
2 cloves fresh garlic
1 Tpsp. pine nuts
1/2 cup mozzarella cheese
1/2 up feta cheese
2 Tbsp. tomato sauce or pizza sauce

Directions:
Preheat oven to 450.  Use a pizza stone or pizza pan for crispy crust.  Spread the sauce on the pizza crust then top with mozzarella cheese.  Spread fresh spinach on top of the cheese.  Sprinkle fresh minced garlic, pine nuts and crumbled feta cheese.  Bake for 5-8 minutes or until done.

Bon Appetit!!

Chicken Pasta - OAG STYLE

I hope everyone is having a terrific start to 2014! Outer Aisle Gourmet is expected to start distributing our products to retailers in March! I will keep you updated on when and where you can find our products.

I would like to share a product testimonial from a Santa Barbara local.

"Freshman year of college I started suffering from different digestion issues and major stomach pain. My junior year I was diagnosed with Candida, an overgrowth of yeast in my small intestine. Western Medicine wasn't helping at all, so I set out to heal myself through naturally through diet. I went on a very specific diet, called the Specific Carbohydrate Diet, where I couldn't eat any grains for an entire year. As you can imagine it was very difficult to give up foods like bread, pasta, rice, and quinoa (foods I had enjoyed my entire life). The past few months I've been able to enjoy Outer Aisle Gourmet, and can't imagine how helpful it would have been to have products like these when I was on such a specific diet. It has been absolutely incredible to be able to whip up a SUPER healthy pasta dish in a matter of minutes and know that I'm eating something not only delicious, but great for me! I LOVE Outer Aisle Gourmet, and am super thankful for how easy these products make eating healthy!"
Whitney E. - Santa Barbara, CA

Whitney, I am so glad that our products can provide you with more delicious options to stay on your diet. Thank you for your testimonial!

Happy New Year! Wishing everyone a year of good health, prosperity, and happiness. I am so excited for 2014. This is the year I will be able to offer Outer Aisle Gourmet products throughout the nation, hoping to make a difference in the way Americans eat!

I would like to share a product testimonial from a health care professional who is a big supporter of Outer Aisle Gourmet.

"What sets the Outer Aisle product line apart from most other healthy alternatives is the taste. Not only are these products healthy vegetable alternatives, but there is no sacrifice when it comes to taste. These products will revolutionize the food industry as we know it!"
Stacey F. - Santa Barbara, CA

Thank you Stacey for your support. Here's to a healthy 2014!

The recipe of the week is... Spaghetti with  Lentil Marinara - OAG Style

Ingredients:
One pack of OAG veggie-pasta
1/2 cup of water
1/4 cup of dried green, brown, or French lentils
2 tablespoons of olive oil
1/4 cup yellow onion
1 garlic clove
1 -  8 oz can of tomato sauce
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
A small pinch of  dried thyme
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions
1. Add lentils and water to a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil and then lower to a simmer and cook until lentils are tender and liquid is evaporated, about 30 minutes.

2. Meanwhile, add 1 tablespoon olive oil to a pan over medium heat. Add the onion and saute for 5 minutes, or until translucent. Add garlic (chopped) and saute for an additional minute, until fragrant.

3. Add the tomato sauce, basil, oregano, thyme, and salt and pepper to taste. Simmer on low for 20 minutes.

4. When lentils are done cooking, add them to the sauce and simmer for an additional 5 – 10 minutes.

5. In a separate pan, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil and saute the veggie-pasta for 5 – 10 minutes, until desired tenderness is achieved.
Plate pasta and top with lentil marinara. Serve hot.
